Below is a guide to update the W790e LAN port through a Ubuntu environment.
You can load the file to a USB to be moved to into the Ubuntu. The folders location that will need to be transferred over to the SSD is found - "I:\!Test & Config\Tools\Testing_Enviroment_Tools\" The folder that can be moved is the Windows and Linux_8.6 to 9.4... folder.
Important - The following update was done without RJ45 cables connected to the 10GB ports and with admin rights in terminal (Sudo Su / admin)
Once the folder has been moved to a USB and the SSD plugged into a unit the folder can be moved to the Home area on Ubuntu.
To access run the update.sh you will need to cd into the folder.
Once in the folder you can run the "sh Update.sh" command to start the LAN Port Firmware update.
The update is finished once you get the following output from the terminal. "A reboot is required to complete the update process"
To make sure the LAN ports are updated you will need to restart the unit and boot into BIOS. Then navigate to Advanced < Intel(R) Ethernet Controller < Firmware Image Properties in here you will be able to see NVM Version, this should be on 9.4.
