Initial Checks
Build Paperwork – Ensure all relevant paperwork is present and has been completed correctly by the Build team.
Visual Inspection – Inspect the unit for any mistakes in the build process, for example missing screws or misrouted cables, also check the chassis for any signs of damage.
Power Switch and LED Functional – Ensure the power switch/LED is working correctly.
BIOS
Spec Check
Entering the BIOS on the unit spamming Del on first boot up.
When in BIOS reference MRP and make sure all relevant components that can be seen in the BIOS are showing up in the correct locations. Reference the manual if you are unsure if memory or SSD/HDD are installed in the wrong locations.
Update
Update the motherboard to the custom Bios v1303. Check the website to see if we are using the latest BIOS version + Check with Team Leader.
Put a UEFI USB into the unit, start Ez-Flash navigate through to the correct bios
Configuration
Once the flash has completed, the unit will prompt you for a reboot. Reboot the unit del back into bios we should see “BIOS Version 1303 x64 “in the main tab. Revert to the PDI + finish BIOS configuration. F10: save Changes & Reset. You should now see the E-Vision image while booting
BMC login to change to: admin / admin123
For setting the HDMI output navigate to “chipset>system Agent>Graphics Configuration>Primary Display: CPU Graphics “ save + exit
Soak Testing
Boot to the OCCT USB and load the Platform script v4
When OCCT is complete. Save the .html and .csv files to the server. If failed, report to team lead.
Software Installation / configuration
Plug in a USB ubuntu medium 20.04.5 desktop V + RG45 cable into left port. Boot stick in UEFI. Follow the installer instructions! Select minimal installation
Select “Erase disk and install Ubuntu “ Follow installer: For Who are you? See below
If you already have a elmo on the network change computers name to Elmo1 - document which serial number on the MO in notes.
Carry on and install OS. Follow instructions. Once the unit has booted into OS, we need to update. To do this log into the root user via Terminal Type “apt update”
we then need to upgrade packages! Type: “apt-get upgrade” select, y, enter We then need to install NxWitness server + client – These can be found on the server @ “C:\Users\yourname\Exacta Technologies Ltd\Production - Test and Config\Customer Configuration\Elmo\Software\nx” drop them onto the desktop from your USB stick
Right click client .deb select open, then Install, follow the instructions, repeat with server
Once both have installed, Config complete. Just need to run q+c data finish PDI. Hand to Dispatch
